Joanna Shea is reading “Obedience to Authority: The Experiment That Challenged Human Nature”.

Though dated (1960's research), Stanley Milgram's experiments attempted to determine the extent to which people will obey orders from authority figures, regardless of consequences. Yikes!

Admittedly, the method of study was (and still is) considered very controversial... but the results of how compliant WE are to #authority is astounding!

Being self aware of the power authority has over US, particularly when in close proximity to it, might be the difference between a yes... or a calculated slow down, reframe, assessment, and push for MORE.
